Mark is a contemporary art painter who lives in New York. During a successfull period of his life, he has strange mystic dreams which transport him to a romanesque church in the Pyrenees in the 12th century. These dreams are expressed in a fresco Mark is painting in his room. He leaves his girlfriend because she asks too many questions about this fresco. Meanwhile, Mark's agent is preparing an important art exhibition, but Mark is no longer able to meet his commercial obligations. He decides to leave for the Pyrenees in search of the church in his dreams.
