This is a story in which wo gwnerations of mountain peoplecome to blow as they have to live side by side in the daily reality of peasants in Savoy. Jean, an old shepherd attached to traditions, is forced to work for the last season with Laurent, a young shepherd who rebels against traditions. At the beginning they seem to oppose each other in everything; their way of working, living, dreaming. Troughout the season things seem to get worse until they reach a climaxwith the arrival of Sophie, Laurent's young fiancée. As the days pass, Sophie manages to gain Jean's favour until he sees in her a young woman of his past, Suzanne, whom his mother Marta made him give up for the mountains and traditions. The story is interpreted by a well known Comédie Francaise actor Jean Davy, and the promising young couple Laurent Ferroud and Julia Monnerie.
