An ancient ritual, closely linked to changes in the farmer's annual cycle. Rogations, days of solemen supplication for the harvst marked by procession, special prayers and blessing of the crops, have generally fallen into disuse as a result of the decline in mountain agricolture. There is, however, a striking exception, Asiago, where this tradition, called "around the world" is still celebrated and involves the whole communtity. Alongside the religiuos motives of the procession, there are profane "pre-Christian" rites involving the exchange of eggs and colourful love tokens dyed with particular herbs by unmarried girls. The film porrays the "Great Rogation" in 1993 with the help of an Asigo celebrity, Mario Rigoni Stern, partecipating in "around the world" for the nth time.
