The upper valley of Lech in the Tyrol, between Arlberg and Reutte, still preserves its peace and original features because it is off the beaten track. It is a jewel of its kind and perhaps the largest and last unspoilt landscape carved by a mountain stream in the Alps. The Lech waters pour through narrow gorges, scour the rock walls and dig deep beds in the meadows forming small lakes and a picturesque maze of brooks. The upper valley of Lech also offers many possibilities for people who enjoy the sport of whitewater. The gorges, waterfalls and winding streams test the abilities of the Kayak experts, who are followed by the camera during their effort to dominate the element.
