Bergell is a valley between St. Moritz and Lake Como. It descends in steps from the Maloja pass to the Italian border, passing from cool mountain air to the mild Italian climate. A paradise for alpinists and climbers and it has attracted many visitors and advantage of the valley. Above the famous chestnut woods, stands the locality of Soglio on a sunny terrace, the pearl of Bergell that was defined by Giovanni Segantini as «The treshold of paradise».
