The film shows an explorative expedition in Borneo on the trade of one made 100 years ago by Carl Lumholtz when the country was unknown. The film uses materials recollected by the important Norwegian explorer such as drawings, photographs, recordings and books as well as historical, religious, cultural and artistic information concerning the indigenous population. Everything is compared with today’s reality to show what remains and how much has changed in the life and costumes of the inhabitants.
