A community belonging to the ancient Magar tribe lives in the traditional regions of west Nepal from high valleys of the Himalayas down to the Terai plains. The ritual activity is centred on the shamans He communes with the spirits and his fore fathers and tries to avert the cause of misfortune, illness and unhappiness.
