The behaviour of Ethiopian baboons has interested scientists for some time and they have tried all ways to get closer to them, throughout the seasons and in various hours of the day and night. This had led to a number of film studies, some of which are strictly scientific and others mainly spectacular. The maker of this film, Antoine de Maximy, is more concerned here with filming techniques than with the actors, the baboons. We are therefore shown some secrets in filming scenes and sounds using special equipment to take close-ups.
