The film portrays the life of a group of children and their families in the ancient kingdom of Zanskar in North India. It’s one of the coldest and highest regions in the Himalayas, a land of great meditators and magicians. Isolated from the rest of the world for more than seven months a year, the clothes, food, homes and religious practices of these people have changed little in a thousand years. The film is an extraordinary document of life in this valley during a crucial time of change.
