Mount Cook is a symbol for all New Zealanders. Many are content to come and admire the mountain, whilst others have a more adventurous, instead, ski or snowboard and even fly from Mt. Cook’s summit. The film re-enacts the first ascent, complete with historical equipment and close up shots made with tiny cameras mounted on the climbers and it emphasises the spectacular physical elements and dramatic dangers.
