Marienberg (Mount Mary Abbey) is the highest monastery in the Alps. Built in baroque style, it stands white and solid at an altitude of 1400 metres in upper Val Venosta near Resia Pass. For 900 years the monks have sung praises to the Lord here and followed the Benedectine rule «ora et labora».
