The peaks and the valleys of the Andes still old many exciting secrets. The story fallows the events in the lives of three men. The first one is the archaeologist Johan Reinhard, who discovered and recovered two Inca mummies in the Central Cordillera of the Andes, at an altitude of 6,000 metres. Martino Ponche is the second protagonist, a young miner who has to deliver half a ton of salt with a llama caravan to a distant market. The film then shows another story, the pilgrimage of the shaman Don Manuel Q’Espi and his young disciple modesto to the great festival of Qoyllyr-Rit’l for an initiation ceremony.
