In 1829 the great grandfather of Gérard Devouassoud created his smithy in Chamonix at the feet of the Mont Blanc massif, on the common territory of the Swiss, French and Italian summer Alpine pastures. His family’s name soon became a common expression, as almost all bells and cowbells of this Alpine area started their musical life in that smithy. Devouassoud ancient craft, the subject of this movie, today belongs to the cultural heritage of mountain people.
