The movie director Laurent Chevallier tells us how in 1985 he partecipated in a French expedition to the Gasherbrun, back from that experience, Chevallier decided to dedicate a movie to the background heroes of these expeditions, and made Little Karim. Eleven years later, the director to revisit his friend Karim to see how his life had changed after becoming one of the most famous Himalayan bearers. The movie describes the meeting with «Little Karim», who now is known as «Mister Karim».

In his long career as a director he has produced around fifty documentaries for television dedicated to mountains around the world. He has also made numerous works for the cinema, including “Momo le doyen” (2007), “Expérience africaine” (2009) and “La Pépinière du désert” (2011).
