SOCA - THE EMERALD RIVER

Austria / 1997 / 50'
The very name of Isonzo brings to mind one of the greatest military tragedies in European history, but the dramatic story of the river and its unique beauty are virtually unknown. This river, called Soča in upper Slovenia, is the last refuge of the speckled trout, the largest in the world. The film tells the story of a scientist, also a fishing enthusiast, who dedicated a lifetime of work to prevent the extinction of the species.
