The Bering Straight on the border between North America and Asia is the meeting place for the migration of men and of animals. Emeric Fisset crosses the wide spaces of the large white desert under the Polar Circle continuously exposed to the risk of a blizzard. During his solitary trip he even discovers a few isolated villages. In the footsteps of the great polar explorers, with a sled pulled by dogs, he leads us to meet the men and places of the great North: Nome and the gold rush, the signs of the Cold war, the ice-pack of the straight where the Eskimo wait for the return of the whales to continue their hunt at -40°.
