In 1919, a number of moose were realised in the New Zealand Fiordland in order to populate the area with these animals with the idea of setting up a hunting reserve. For a time these animals prospered and multiplied. It is still uncertain why they were not seen again as the years went by, and it was thought that they might have become extinct. Ken Tustin in nevertheless convinced that moose are still alive, hidden in the Fiordland forest. The documentary investigates these animals, traces of which are clearly visible, in the attempt to solve one of New Zealand’s greatest mysteries.
