This is an authenich documentary, written by the film director himself, with music specifically composed for it. The subject centres on a man seen and heard in his purest dimension in Valle Imagna which like others, is going through a critical period of adaptation to the social realities of today. The inabitants, who in the past emigrated at Easter time and dreamed of returning home to the intimacy of the family at Christmas, describe the difficulties of the past and present with the simplicity and clarity and without any hard feelings or rebellion. The images offer a view of the daily life of a population still bound to the farming and artisan habits of the past, together with the new feeling of unrest which reaches beyond the borders of the valley. The protagonists entirely occupy the scene without any intrusion of artificial effects or outside voices.
