The documentary closely follows the "Trieste 8000" expedition to the great south wall, over 2,000 metres high, of Shisha-Pangma (8,046 m), organized by the "XXX Ottobre" Trieste section of C.A.I. to celebrate the eightieth anniversary of its foundation. During the long trek of acclamisation through the towns and mythical places of central Tibet, the fascination and charm of the vast highlands and its inhabitants completely absorb the travellers, leaving a deep and indelible mark. All this despite the failure of the expedition due ti exceptional bad weather.
