The film is about a journey in the Antarctica, in the Antartica, in Victoria Land where a italian scientific base has been operating for fifteen yeas. Every year, an Italian ship leaves New Zealand for the Terra Nova Bay and sail through the belt of ice surrounding the Antarctia, in a voyage lasting ten days, to take supplies and instruments to this outpost in the great frozen continent. When they reach land research activities begin with the exploration of caves and crevasses, submersions and the study of areas free of glacies. An adventure on the edge of the world; along the routes taken by great explorers, with a visit to Scott’s perfectly conserved hut and the extraordinary footge of Shackleton’s unfortunate expedition, who saw and filmed his ship crushed by ice.
