The Pole Anna Czerwinska, born in 1949, has climbed five 8000 peaks and is considered to be one of the best female Himalayists in the world. She has been climbing for about thirty years and became famous after her first winter ascent of the north face of the Matterhorn in 1978. In 2000 she conquered Everest; at 51 years of age she is the oldest woman to have reached the “Roof of the World”. The documentary follows her attempt to climb Lhotse in 2001 and describes her strong character, her feelings, her determination to reach the goal she has set herself, her motivation as a woman alpinist seeking continually to find within herself, also through meditation, the strength to overcome difficulties and limits that seem insuperable.
