The film is dedicated to the memory of the famous Georgian alpinist Mikhail Khergiani who received the maximum recognition the former Soviet Union used to award. The first ascents made by Mikhail in the Caucasus, in the Alps and in Tien Shan are still popular with ‘professional’ alpinists even today. Mikhail Khergiani died in 1969 during his second climb of the Gabriel-Livanos route that was repeated by Georgian alpinists in 2001 and is the subject of a documentary film. The respect Italians have for Mikhail is proved by the fact that the Italian Alpine Club placed material from its archives at the disposal of the filmmakers for this documentary.
