Favoured with extraordinary natural features and a secluded position, Sella Valley has remained, until today, in a beautiful and relatively unspoilt state. In 1986 a biennial of art in nature was created called Arte Sella. Visitors can walk along the Arte Sella trail, through woods of beech-trees, larches, firs and ancient trees, where international artists have created works of art with leaves, branches and stones. Time transforms their work, but every two years new proposals are added. The most impressive creation is Giuliano Manzi’s vegetal cathedral, which covers an area of 1,230 sq.m and is 12 metres high. The glade in the wood where the cathedral stands is now the destination of thousands of visitors every year and a venue for concerts and shows.
