The ascent of Makalu (8.463 m) in Nepal, in the heart of the Himalayas, is among the most coveted for alpinists, not only for the long approach march to the foot of the mountain, but also for the great technical effort required to climb it.
Abele Blanc, an Alpine guide of Aymavilles in Aosta Valley, made the climb with two South Tyrolean alpinists from Prato Stelvio (Bolzano), Paul Stephan Andres and Christian Kuntner.
The whole of the expedition was filmed by Kuntner and Blanc with their digital camcorders.
