The film, shot in Trentino at Canal San Bovo in Vanoi Valley, now an ecomuseum, documents all the stages necessary to repair the roof of a typical house in the area, with wooden tiles called "scandole". To start with a tree has to be chosen and felled, preferably in winter. The work, carried out with great ability and know-how by the local inhabitants, Andrea Taufer and Luigi Cecco, permits us to follow and understand all the operations that were once needed to make this type of roofing, which is common to all the huts and houses, not only in this area, but in many other rural constructions in the Trentino mountains.
