The documentary portrays the traditions of the Tyrol that have remained unchanged for centuries. Many religious rites, customs and daily habits of the region have been preserved and are still observed and practised by the population in the valleys. These are not only religious processions and festivities for some particular annual anniversary, or carnival rites, or festivities linked to the change of seasons, such as the summer solstice, but also songs, sounds and voices. It is the life of the mountain farmers who continue to cultivate their land on the steep slopes in the valleys of Alto Adige in exactly the same way their forefathers did hundreds of years ago.
