In November 2002 a delegation of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park went to Calafate, in Argentina, to twin with the "Parco Nacional Los Glacieres" situated in the province of Santa Cruz. The Argentinean park occupies an area of 6,000 sq. km. and is home to some of the most famous features of South America, among which the glaciers of Perito Moreno, Uppsala and Spegazzini, as well as Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy, mountains linked to names of Trentino alpinists. The visit also provided an opportunity to explore and compare other important parks in South America.
