The film proposes an evocative journey across the extensive Kyrgyzstan stepps and along the ancient Silk Route. Two young boys and a girl from a mountain village want to give a meaning to their lives. They reach the railway and board the train that travels along what used to be the grat Silk Route. It is a journey in which the children come into contact with different worlds and meet many people, including a painter who passengers, and a group of cardsharps who, during a quarrel, punch the painter and throw him out the train. The eldest child, soon realises the meeting with the painter is a turning point in his life and he begs to go with him. The children separate, each following their own destiny.
