This documentary is about the extraordinary adventure of an Austrian couple and a journey in a mysterious and bewitching place, the Persian desert. Alfonso Gabriel was a keen explorer who lived in the twenties and who, with his wife Agnes Kummel., went on two long expeditions across the uneexplored country of the desert in Central Iran, consideret by everyone to be the hottest and most dangerous place in the world. For thefirst time a European team have been able to gain access to this remote desert region, most of which is still a virgin territory, to try and find the route taken by Alfonso Gabriel and Agnes Kummel.
