The region of West Papus New Guinea is certainly one of the most fascinating and treacherous areas on earth. An unspoilt enviroment and a mosaic of populations, many of whom still use tools made of stone, are the setting of a reality that has not changed in ten thousand years. the film is a travel diary describing an expedition across West Papua. Marco Preti, sest out on foot from the Valley of Baliem to reach the land of the Yali, a pygmy population living in the forest beyond the mountains. Then a small plane takes him to the alluvial plains to expore a pure and uncontaminated world inhabited by the Korwai tribe.
