A visually handicapped European man leaves for South Africa in order to do paragliding, a sport he was very fond of before his blindness prevented him from practicing it. He decides to pay a local African woman to take him to the top of the mountain that rises up just behind her poor and violent village. Looking at the world through her eyes, he ends up falling in love with her. Because of her relationship with a stranger the community in her village chases her away, and she finds shelter in the stranger’s darkness. Together, they plan to go up to the top of the mountain in order to run away from their difficult worlds and their wrecked lives. The structure of the film is like a tapestry of real interviews interweaving with fictional moments, thus creating a totally new and particular way of telling a story.
