This film follows the most important mission of the drilling of fossil coral in Tahiti, in the South Pacific. The scientists’ method brings new information to the question of global warming. The scientific investigation – from the samples to the first findings - concerns the ecological future of the planet and the survival of some people. The uncertain situation of some atolls in the Pacific demonstrates the urgency for coordinated action by all the authorities of the world.
