In the natural environment bouldering is a style of climbing, but in its urban version it started off as a reaction to growing urbanisation and is supported by those who have chosen “to live in the town also in the vertical dimension”. For the street boulderer the grey metropolis becomes an endless resource: a building façade, a monument, a bridge or even an old disused edifice are turned into “boulders” to conquer and use to test one’s mental and physical abilities.
