This documentary film deals with the street bouldering phenomenon, a sport that has found the highest number of participants and the greatest level of organisation in our country. In the natural environment bouldering is a style of climbing, but in its urban version it started off as a reaction to growing urbanisation and is supported by those who have chosen “to live in the town also in the vertical dimension”. For the street boulderer the grey metropolis becomes an endless resource: a building façade, a monument, a bridge or even an old disused edifice are turned into “boulders” to conquer and use to test one’s mental and physical abilities. Through the authoritative voices of street bouldering’s “fathers” and using exclusive and extraordinary images, this documentary film deals with the origins, expansion, technical characteristics and deepest aspects of this “revolutionary” sport, as well as the issues of illegality.
