Intensive cultivation of apples in Alto Adige is dependent on a foreign workforce. Most of the workers are males between the ages of 30 and 40 from the new countries in the European Union, who come to work in local orchards several times a year. The documentary follows a farmer from Lasa in the Val Venosta, who takes on workers from Slovakia and decides to go and visit two of them in their own country, discovering the reason for their nostalgia in the beauty of the landscape. The relationship between them becomes an opportunity for mutual knowledge and respect. A film about migrant workers and their reception, about nostalgia for home and the desire to leave.
