Val Daone, 1954: a mine exploded early, killing four miners. This incident exemplifies a period in history which saw massive development of hydroelectric plants in Trentino. The theme is the workplace accidents which took place so frequently during the realisation of the huge hydroelectric power stations constructed in the 1950s, plants which supplied up to 10% of national electricity requirements. The film tells the tale of one of these dramas, on the basis of interviews with Rino Battisti, a trade unionist, and Ezio Pellizzari, a cook and direct witness.
