Andrea is 16 when he leaves school and decides to work as a nomadic shepherd in the Biella area, far from the collective rites of adolescence and the clamour of society. He is however supported by a modern family which sees life in the open-air and contact with animals as a way of understanding the sense of life and of arriving at adulthood. The documentary accompanies the young man over a period of almost two years, following the various movements of the flock. A journey in images and sounds, exploring the secret which binds the young man to the solitude of the pastures, in search of a new identity.
