Giancarlo Godio was a famous mountain cook, a lover of solitude and altitude. This documentary takes us into his unique world and into his restaurant and retreat at the top of Val d'Ultimo. It is the posthumous tale of a man who was capable of making drastic choices, but suffered from an innate fragility. Chefs Piero Bertinotti, Herbert Hintner, Luisa Valazza and Heinz Winkler, journalists and authors Daniel Breitenberger, Ennio Chiodi, Silvano Faggioni, Werner Oberthaler and Ezio Zermiani, plus fans and connoisseurs such as Elfriede Sanoner and Reinhold Messner, recount the life of the first chef with a restaurant at 2000 metres to be awarded a Michelin Star.
