In 1981 Pinochet privatised almost all the water resources in Chile. In the following thirty years, water exploitation rights were ceded to national and international enterprises interested in producing hydroelectric energy. Today in Chilean Patagonia the HidroAysén project provides for the construction of five large dams across the Rivers Pascua and Baker. Moving between the past and the present, the film recalls these events through the stories of three women, hundreds of kilometres apart, who try to resist the giant hydroelectric company about to infringe on their land, imposing an idea of progress to which they cannot relate.
