Rubel is a fourteen-year-old who would like to attend school , but in order to survive he is obliged to sell rice on the black market, crossing the Ganges along the stretch separating India from Bangladesh. He lives with his family and many other homeless people on a small island forming in the river, patrolled by the armies of both states and constantly in danger of being once again submerged. Sourav Sarangi has filmed this human microcosm for years, succeeding in creating an emblematic and very powerful portrait.
