Cerro Rico de Potosí, in Bolivia, is the largest silver mine in the world and the only economic resource in the area. For this reason, despite the considerable impoverishment of resources, around 15,000 miners work there. Minerita tells the story of three women, Lucía (40), Ivone (16) and Abigail (17) who work as night-time wardens or in the mine and who battle using every means, including dynamite, to survive the violence and frequent attempts at rape by the miners.
