The natural environments of New Zealand have been used in a number of major films recently in order to recreate an imaginary unspoilt paradise to be used as a set for films such as Avatar or The Lord of the Rings. The two artists Margit Lukács and Persijn Broersen decided to work on these images: they broke them down, superimposed and stratified them in order to reveal their virtual and combined nature, bringing to light the vast distance separating the natural and the virtual image.

Born in 1973 in The Netherlands, she lives and works in Amsterdam. Together with Persijn Broersen she has made numerous video art works, including Dubai, Dubai (2011), Time & Again (2011) and Beyond Sunset and Sunrise (2013).
Persijn Broersen
Born in 1974 in The Netherlands, he has a stable working relationship with Margit Lukàcs.
