In the former Soviet Republic of Kyrgyzstan sits one of the world's largest remaining walnut forests: a haven for biodiversity, where ancient strains of fruits and nuts thrive, and which for centuries has provided a livelihood for the walnut farmers of the nearby town of Arslanbob, who trek to the forest each September for harvest season. Harvest Moon follows the walnut farmer Bolot Tagaev and his family as they encounter myths and legends of a forest, and a way of life, that is disappearing.
