The film explores Morocco’s forgotten indigenous culture and the legacy of the Imdiazen: Amazigh poets who travelled from village to village, using Timnadin poetry and storytelling to spread news of the resistance against colonialism and the Sultan. Today, the villagers of Imider continue to carry this tradition.

Nadir Bouhmouch
Filmmaker and producer based in Marrakech, he is the author of My Makhzen & Me, Verses for the Rif and Paradises of the Earth. He is also a researcher, photographer and writer focusing on cinema and on indigenous land rights and environmental issues. Some of his work has been published in Al Jazeera, International Business Times, Middle East Eye and Le Monde.
