Soon after the tragic death of his wife and youngest daughter, Sir Edmund Hillary, deeply depressed, embarks on a healing journey: an epic expedition along the entire length of India's holy river Ganges. Just as India begins to weave its healing magic, Hillary's own life becomes in peril. A totally new version of From the Ocean to the Sky, Gold Gentian in Trento in 1980, the film is an intimate personal portrait of Hillary, and it includes for the first time a moving account of his rescue from near death.
