More than a century ago, in 1895, Alfred Mummery attempted to ascend Nanga Parbat. The first ascent in 1953 was made by Hermann Buhl. Alex Txikon together with Ali Sadpara and Simone Moro managed to reach the top of Nanga Parbat in 2016 in winter, marking a milestone in mountaineering history.

A mountain lover since childhood, he has participated in almost 30 expeditions and has crowned 10 of the 14 highest peaks in the world. In 2005, he joined the team of the television program 'Al Filo De Lo Imposible' for which he worked as a high altitude cameraman. In 2011, he began the winter expeditions for which he is particularly known today.
