The town of Cave del Predil is a frontier land. Hidden in the forests of the Julian Alps, today it is the shadow of a place once at the cutting edge of progress. The tunnels of the mine still resound with the echo of heavy labour, and the stories of witnesses keep alive the signs left by time. Abandoned by the politics of the present day, Cave still dreams of a possible future.

Growing up in Tarvisio, she attended the specialist course in “Teoría y Práctica del Documental Creativo” at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona and the Master en Edición y Montaje Cinematográfico at La Casa del Cine. Since 2012 she has worked as a filmmaker and video editor in Spain and Italy. AVENÂL is her documentary debut.
