In Basque language the verb ‘heldu’ has a polysemic meaning. It can be ‘to hold’, ‘to grow’ or ‘to arrive’. The declined form ‘heltzear’ means ‘about to’ all of those things. Born in Donostia/San Sebastián, 1985. A graduate in audiovisual communication from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, he earned an MA from the London Film School. His short films have won awards at festivals such as the Montreal World Film Festival. In summer 2021 he shot his first feature film, SURO.
