A journey moving between the past and the present day, with a wealth of testimony and reflections to tell the story of the writer Mario Rigoni Stern (1921-2008). During the course of an imaginary day, from dawn to star-filled night, his voice, recovered from the extensive archives, recalls the years of war and imprisonment. Once he returned home, over time the sergeant in the Alpine troops became the warden of the Asiago tableland, and his native land took on the value of a world to be preserved from wars and indifference.
