THE FUTURE OF CAI. DIALOGUE WITH THE PRESIDENT
Con Antonio Montani, Presidente Generale del CAI
Founded by Quintino Sella in 1963 as a club for mountaineers only, over the course of the past century and in the new millennium the club has been transformed, embracing a wide range of mountain enthusiasts. Depopulation, mass tourism and the climate change crisis have led to enormous anthropogenic pressure on the mountains today. These factors have driven CAI to act as a new spokesperson, promoting rethinking of our relationship with the mountains. How can CAI advocate a different culture that adapts to a warmer world? We discuss this with the current President during an evening dedicated to CAI.
