CLIMBERS, PARENTING AND RISK

Intervengono Linda Cottino (giornalista e storica dell’alpinismo), Riccarda de Eccher (artista e alpinista), Elena Goatelli (regista), Ingrid Runggaldier (storica dell’alpinismo femminile). Starting from a gender-based interpretation of sport, which exposes asymmetrical and discriminatory attitudes towards women throughout the sporting world, especially in sports disciplines and/or contexts perceived as or considered to be more "masculine," we reflect on parenting and risks in mountaineering, focusing on how the figure of the mother mountaineer has been perceived in the social and cultural sphere over the years, as opposed to that of the father.
A profound and wide-ranging interpretation of patriarchal conditioning that has determined who has more or less right to a life on the brink, the right to take risks.
